  • Finally... furniture

I have been playing with our awesome theme editor for some time but I did not have time to create an entry before. This is my first serious weblog entry and I am excited! I still cannot believe that I live in New York city!

Anyway, I moved to the city almost three weeks ago and the only thing I could sit on until recently was a big pillow, which was not really comfortable. Since my husband was not here, we could not go shopping for furniture. When he came to NYC last weekend, we went to Ikea (to the one in Elizabeth, NJ) just to check out their selection. We liked one of their sofas and picking up the rest of the furniture was like playing a game. Ikea makes everything so easy for you (no, this is not a commercial :) . We picked a dining table and matching chairs, a coffee table, a rug, two floor lamps, a book case, two bedside tables, a mirror and two shoe racks with household items that are not worth listing here. It was so much fun! The best part is that you get to assemble everything. Both my husband and I like that stuff so for the last few days what we do in the evenings is assembling furniture.

Now that we have a sofa bed, our guests are lining up for June. I am excited about showing them our newly decorated apartment. I am also excited about my first summer in NYC. I bought two books about NYC and I have been asking people for things to do and see. I am planning to write short blog entries about the restaurants I have been to when I have time. So far, everything is great...

  • Good ol' Ikea! I've never actually been to one though, I just stole a bunch of furniture from my parents and my old room heh

  • I went to that same Ikea and it stole my soul. They trick you into buying tons of stuff with their minimalist swedish design and jedi mind tricks.

  • I hope living in New York is a great adventure for you. I have enjoyed my visits there. One of them actually included an unplanned limo ride through Times Square!
