Have you ever found

about? We noticed some users went as far

had got! Well, we have good news for you. Today we are launching
Featured Question to help you get inspired.
When you visit the
front page, you will see the featured question at the top with a button that
asks you to blog about it. You can also see what other people have to say about

I think it’s a great idea- I constantly find myself not knowing what 2 write. But like some of the other comments, I think you should make your questions debatable. That would be soooooooo cool
I generally don’t sit down to write a post. If I have something to post, I’ll do it, otherwise I spend my internet time doing other stuff.

This my Blog, which has a few questions for the Xanga Team, since no one can never get them to respond to their comments, e-mails, questions, messages, or anything. I am NOT trying to spam you. I repeat: this is NOT A SPAM MESSAGE.

Xanga vs. MySpace
So some people think Xanga is better than MySpace or MySpace is better than Xanga. Personally, I think both are good although Xanga has become a bit of a disappoinment lately.
To start this post off, Xanga totally copied off of MySpace with the whole “Friends” thing I guess just to get more popular or make themselves look better, I don’t know.
Also, Xanga doesn’t interact with their users as much as Tom does. Tom actually reads some of the bulletins that are posted, like the “Bye Bye MySpace” ones, then actually will post an update bulletin himself about it. Sometimes he actually even comments people. All Xanga does is once in a blue moon posts a weblog update on the frnt page. Also, the earliest entry TheXangaTeam will allow you to comment on is from three years ago. Kinda lame if you ask me. Tom let’s ANY MySpace user comment/message him any time as oppose to an entry from three years ago. Which is definately lame on Xanga’s part.
There are a few good things about Xanga though. Like if your looking for a more diary-style blog page, then Xanga would be better than MySpace.
I think Xanga may have gotten the feautured Audio/Video/Photo stuff off of MySpace ’cause MySpace has had those for quite a while. They also have pages specially for artists, music artists, authors, film makers, directors, movies, & etc. And Xanga does not.
Not to mention the part where Xanga just deletes a user’s site without any warning. Like deleting one after they turned 13, just because they were under 13 when they first made it. Seems kinda dumb if you ask me.
Also, MySpace doesn’t make you pay extra money to get certain services. At MySpace, you’re eligible for all services for FREE. As oppose to having to pay for Xanga Premium. Which is dumb. Just like the only reason I think they brought Xanga Lifetime Premium back is because Xanga is losing a lot of popularity to MySpace.
Another thing, MySpace offers MySpace IM, bulletins, & things like that. All Xanga offers is a “chat board” & “memories”. Come on, what’s the point?
The only bad thing about MySpace is that it doesn’t let you track who visits your profile. But as MySpace comes out with new things more often than Xanga, I’m sure it’s coming somewhere. Because they just came out with a “current mood & status” feautre which let’s you see what that person is feeling, and if their on your friends list, you can see what they are currently doing.
Also, I just tried to create a blogring with the name of “MySpace vs. Xanga” but for some odd reason it keeps telling me the name is “invalid” when I’ve followed ALL of the requirements for the name, and there is no other blogring with that name. Now isn’t that kinda funny? Maybe Xanga doesn’t want a bunch of people gathering in one blogring & talking about “MySpace vs. Xanga”.

Another thing. I posted a photo in the photo blog for one of my other Xangas and put it up to be starred. Ok, well when I go through ALL of the photos up for the coveted star award, mine isn’t even in there when it’s had like fifty five star votes. But yet I came accross atleast five pictures of anime porn and atleast three naked penises (which one was underage). I reported this, but Xanga doesn’t do anything about it. I’ve also commented a few of the “Xanga Team” members. But has anyone noticed how they NEVER respond to any of their comments? Like the “official” Xanga Team Xanga (TheXangaTeam), their earliest entry you can comment them on is from three years ago. So I can’t believe how these porno’s & under age boys showing their penis can be up for this coveted star award with no votes other than from some male pedofile saying he “wanted that cock”. And yet mine hasn’t made it on the front page, the discussed, or even up for the star award. When it is actually very worthy and won awards else where.

Also, I highly doubt Xanga will feature this blog because they don’t seem to actually care about the quaility of their feautred or starred photos, videos, or weblogs.
So at this point, I’m not so sure why sooo many people still think Xanga is better than MySpace. Most of my friends rarely even use their Xangas anymore.

It will definitely help the teenyboppers….. I tell that age student that xanga is wonderful for learning web design, but it’s also an incredible great tool for that age to get good with writing.
It will also be great for older teenyboppers like followers of Dan the Theologian, followers who have no idea what to write on their own, but respond to Dan’s vapid questions of the day. Yes I’m jealous of his thousands of comments and eprops every day.
My favorite memories spring from summer camp age 12.
Kind of a neat feature. Keep the new stuff coming.

–1)Xanga has downright been beaten in the past, because it was a blog- what it was supposed to be! a blogging comunity

It is good to start thinking of a question whether it is a hard question or an easy question but when a person want to ask you something very important or a serious one too like if they ask you about yourself or your information and anything like that just answer them correctly but if you don’t feel like answering that person’s question then don’t tell them or even say anything to them ! Anyways…like you have to watch out their question may change into something nasty or gross or maybe they might even ask you some stupid or a dumb or violence questions and you don’t want to answer that at all! So…next time I think these people should ask a good question if they need to though too! Please make sure a person answer the right person’s question and they’ll probably answer all of the good question whether it is a private or a personal question one!

Totally fun idea. Everybody loves a good conversationalist — since it gives people an excuse to talk. Prompting discussion should be a net gain for your users. The onus is on the promptmaker to select topics that people will run with.

Great Childhood Memory …was at a King Kong (yes the original) matinee movie and pulled my front tooth out on some taffy. My tooth flipped over the front seat and onto the floor. I crawled on the sticky floor in the dark looking for my tooth because with it came rewards under my pillow from the Tooth Fairy. Finally I found it but missed seeing half the movie in the process.

Ah, prompts. So, are we able to put our own ideas on here for questions? Or no? Becuase I’m always able to think of things to write about, although I only post a blog when I’m inspired. Things such as what feelings and memories certain songs bring out when listened to, or your worst fear, or even what you think is the purpose for life, and the purpose for us living here. I can get deep when it comes to things like that so it’s probable I’ll be typing for a while when it comes to that last one. Just a thought though. Nice idea btw.

I don’t have that problem. I approach things from a different angle — I post something only after I have something about which to write. As a matter of fact, I usually write my entries offline, then copy and paste them into the entry box when I’m finished.

Wouldn’t it be better to have one forum for the featured question where everyone just posts their opinion and everyone else can reply to it? Oh, and i’ve got a great idea for a featured question. Try anything about race. I had fun writing an article about race on my xanga, i bet others would love to give their opinion on posts like that too so i suggest a forum of sorts

Although I am not choosing to blog about it, I do think that the current featured question “One man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter – agree or disagree? And why?” is the best I’ve seen. I just wish those who answer them would allow their minds to be provoked beyond the answers of “yes, because that’s what I think”. I’m tired of that. These questions haven’t made blogs much more interesting to read.. not yet at least..

I love it how Drakonskyr was right from the beginning – these questions are too trivial.
With the amount of potential questions that could actually be controversial or thought provoking, you ask what super-power we would want? Try reading through the responses and tell me how good they are.

Yes it does help mental block that prompting you to comment on a question. Sometimes it can be a right nightmare thinking thinking thinking but the days are over for times with no blogs.

I totally think Xanga should throw in a few questions in which people can take sides. Who doesn’t like a good argument? Why talk about yourself when you can fight about important issues?:)
