Apartment Search Episode 1
Güneş and I went to see an apartment in Park Slope yesterday. We found out about the apartment through his coworker, who is the current tenant.
The apartment was very cute. The living room was smaller than our living room, so at first I was concerned that our stuff would not fit in. But I think we can work that out by getting rid of some of the stuff we have or maybe getting a smaller sofa.
Here is what I liked:
- The bedroom was almost twice the size of our bedroom and it had a nice leafy view of the backyard. It looked very peaceful.
- They had a washer/dryer combo in the bathroom and the bathroom still looked decently roomy.
- There was a small alcove, which they used as a tiny office. We could do the same or at least use that space for our books and all the electronics stuff Güneş has.
We did not talk to the landlord yet but we are hoping he would not go to the brokers and just rent the apartment to us
Then it would make this the easiest apartment search in my life. We’ll see what happens.

Well, hopefully it’ll work out. If not, good luck hunting!
nice, i hope you get it!
all the cool kids are moving to brooklyn!
I watched “when Harry Met Sally” , and I think Billy Crystal’s character had it right…maybe they should put the real estate ads and the obituaries together…that way the ad would read something like:
“Mrs. Winneford passed on March 24th at 92. She leaves behind 3 kids, two cats, and a spacious 3 bedroom apartment…located with a wonderful Central Park view. $$$$$ rent.”
Well, it’s a sad thought…but I hear it might be all the rage and helpful.
Hope the apartment hunt works out for y’all.
oooh goodluck!
Good luck! (Is there one next door?
)
@awth44 - @vikas - @edlives - @eugenia - @monsur - thanks for wishing me luck! I will see the landlord tomorrow.
Hope you have the apartment by now. Too bad you live so far away. If you were in the Chicago area, my son could rent you his condo, or on eof them. Good luck.
